Here's the place to get started... I get requests all the time from folks - like you - that want the Club to help them find people to climb, hike and travel with. But, due to privacy issues we do not really want to give out your information.
Okay, so someone needs to dive in here and find out if this thing can work, so here goes. I'm looking for one or two folks with some snow/ice experience to climb Rainier and/or Gannett this summer. I'm thinking of trying Gannett in July, Rainier in August. I have reached 47 highpoints, only lacking Washington, Wyoming and Alaska, although I have close on all three. Write bobkaspar@sbcglobal.net
It figures I'd get a typo mixed in on the above message. What I meant to write is that "I have been close on all three". What I mean by that is I have been to 16,000 feet on Denali, 12,000 feet on Rainier, and to the base of Gannett.
I live in Connecticut. In July/August 2010, I want to go to these high points, in order: KS OK NM TX AZ UT CO NE SD ND. I would like company on all or part of the trip. mdwoade@yahoo.com
Anyone want to roadtrip the first weekend of August? Illinois, Iowa & South Dakota. Leaving Chicago on the 4th and have to be back at O'Hare by 5:00 on the 7th
Lida: Just wanted to make you aware that the first weekend of August falls on Sturgis Bike Week. I changed my plans to hike Harney Peak because of this. I've been told the whole Rapid City to Sturgis area is congested and chaotic at this time so you may want to consider other highpoints.
I would but it's the only time we can get to Harney and I'm trying to finish 49 by late fall and Alaska in the spring. We're going to be there Wednesday night, hike Thursday and leave anyway so hopefully it won't be too bad.
I am looking for 1-2 hikers to join me and my daughter for the Highpoints of SD and ND in the summer of 2011. This will be a unique hike for all and I will explain in detail...if you are seriously interested. Please send an email to: hurrikains@hotmail.com
I am planning on doing AZ/Humphrey's and maybe Utah the weekend of AUG 20-22. If anyone is interested, please contact me at roxana.lewis@protravelinc.com
My son and I live in CT and trying to finish up the 48 states in the next couple years. We are considering a summer 2011 mega-roadtrip to complete 9 mid-West states (not including NE, MO, & KS). If timing works out, the trip could include the OH convention. Additionally, we could target Wyoming, Montana, and/or Idaho if the team members have time and appropriate skills.
This trip will require many hours in the car.. about 100 hours by my rough calculation. More adventurers would definitely increase the enjoyment of the roadtrip. If anyone is interested in joining this ~2 week adventure, please contact us at arthurspiderman@yahoo.com
Looking to connect with fellow enthusiasts who are planning or considering attending the HighPointers Convention in MS/Muscle Shoals, AL, over Columbus Day weekend (6-9 October). My intention is to "bag" the High Points in Alabama and Missouri as well as the convention location in Mississppi, and possibly Arkansas and Louisiana as well. Seek traveling companion(s) both female and/or male and for all or part of the journey to share expenses. All options are open, including driving from NYC/Long Isalnd area to Mississippi, or meeting at a southern airport and getting a rental car.
Some days it doesn't pay to get up, or at least try to "post" in a new medium when you are rushing to catch a train. Correction to E-Mail above: cbbrock35@aol.com
